She Asked for a BBL Before Her Holiday

August 2026  ·  7 min read  ·  Butt Filler

There are two types of people before a holiday.

The first books the flights, plans the outfits and starts packing three weeks early.

The second remembers the holiday is happening next Friday and decides that seven days is plenty of time to transform her entire body.

She was the second type.

She arrived at the clinic wearing gym leggings, oversized sunglasses and the unmistakable confidence of someone who had already imagined the final photograph.

Ibiza.

White bikini.

Golden hour.

A perfectly sculpted silhouette against the Mediterranean Sea.

She placed her phone on the consultation desk and showed me a picture of an influencer.

"I want this," she said, zooming in on the woman's waist and dramatically rounded bottom.

"My flight is next week. Can we do a BBL today?"

There was just one slight problem.

She did not want surgery.

She wanted butt filler.

And despite what social media may have led her to believe, the two are not the same treatment.

The holiday transformation

Her plan was simple.

Arrive with hip dips.

Leave with an hourglass.

Recover for a few days.

Then reveal the new body somewhere between the airport lounge and the first beach club.

She had already ordered the bikinis.

She had already planned the photographs.

She had even saved a folder called NEW BODY on her phone.

The only thing she had not considered was whether her expectations could realistically be achieved with the treatment she was requesting.

"How much filler will I need?" she asked.

I looked at the photograph.

Then at her natural frame.

Then back at the photograph, which had almost certainly enjoyed the assistance of a flattering pose, careful lighting and perhaps a little editing.

"More than we should place simply because you are going on holiday next week," I told her.

She lowered her sunglasses.

"But I thought butt filler was instant?"

Technically, volume is visible immediately.

But that does not mean the result you see straight after treatment is the final result.

And it certainly does not mean every transformation should happen in one appointment.

Butt filler is not a surgical BBL

Let us clear up one of aesthetics' favourite misunderstandings.

A surgical Brazilian Butt Lift usually involves liposuction and the transfer of a patient's own fat into the buttocks.

Non-surgical butt enhancement uses an injectable product to add targeted volume, soften hip dips and improve contour without surgical fat transfer.

Both may aim to enhance the shape of the buttocks, but they are not interchangeable.

Butt filler can improve projection, balance asymmetry and create a smoother outline in carefully selected clients.

What it cannot promise is the exact body of an influencer whose anatomy, proportions and starting shape may be completely different from yours.

The goal is enhancement.

Not anatomical identity theft.

“Can't you just add more?”

It is a question practitioners hear more often than you might imagine.

If some filler creates some volume, surely more filler creates more volume.

Mathematically, perhaps.

Clinically, treatment is not that simple.

The amount used must be considered alongside the client's anatomy, body frame, skin capacity, existing tissue, treatment history and desired result.

A petite client may respond differently from someone with a larger frame. A client correcting a small hip dip may need a different plan from someone requesting projection across the entire buttock.

There is also a point where adding more product in one sitting does not automatically create a better result.

It may simply create more swelling, more pressure on the tissues, greater discomfort and a result that is harder to assess accurately.

A responsible practitioner does not chase a photograph by continuing to inject until the client says, "That looks big enough."

They create a plan.

Why staged treatments matter

Some results are better built gradually.

A staged approach may involve completing an initial treatment, allowing the tissues to recover and the product to settle, then reassessing the shape before deciding whether more volume is appropriate.

This gives the practitioner an opportunity to see:

It also gives the client time to adjust to the change.

That matters more than people realise.

A result that seems modest during an emotional consultation may feel completely different once it is part of your body, visible in every outfit and viewed from every angle.

You can always discuss adding more later.

Removing an impulsive decision is rarely as simple.

The swelling illusion

Straight after treatment, the area may appear fuller than it eventually will.

That early fullness is not necessarily the final contour.

Swelling, tenderness, redness and temporary firmness can occur following hyaluronic-acid gluteal augmentation, and the treated area needs time to settle before the result can be judged properly.

This is why immediate photographs should never be treated as a guarantee of the final outcome.

The first look in the mirror may include the product, temporary swelling and the excitement of finally seeing a change.

Then the swelling reduces.

The tissues soften.

The result begins to look and feel more natural.

Some clients panic because they think they have “lost all the filler.”

Others panic during the swollen stage because the area looks larger or feels firmer than expected.

Both reactions are reasons to follow the aftercare provided by the treating clinic and allow the appropriate healing period before judging the outcome.

Your holiday is not a clinical deadline

She wanted to know whether she could sit through a flight, wear a tight bikini, spend all day in the sun and dance until morning a few days after treatment.

It was not the glamorous answer she wanted, but her body did not know that she had booked Ibiza.

Healing does not speed up because the hotel is non-refundable.

Recovery can vary between clients, and an injectable body treatment should be planned with enough time for expected swelling and discomfort to settle, as well as time to contact the clinic if anything concerns you.

A holiday immediately after treatment can also make normal recovery more stressful.

Every bruise feels disastrous.

Every patch of swelling becomes an emergency.

Every photograph is examined before the result has had a fair chance to settle.

And if a genuine concern develops while you are abroad, you are no longer close to the practitioner who treated you.

A treatment should fit safely into your life. Your life should not have to race around the treatment.

The photograph she really wanted

I asked her to stand in front of the mirror.

Not the flattering mirror.

Not the one angled beneath soft lighting.

The honest consultation mirror.

We looked at her natural proportions together.

She had a defined waist, a good starting shape and mild hip dips that became more visible when she stood completely straight.

In the influencer's photograph, the woman's back was arched, one hip was pushed outward and her waist had been twisted towards the camera.

When my client copied the pose, her body immediately appeared curvier.

She stared at her reflection.

"So some of it is the pose?"

Some of it was the pose.

Some of it was anatomy.

Some of it may have been treatment.

And some of it may have existed only inside an editing app.

Social media rarely labels each ingredient.

What we agreed

We did not attempt to recreate a surgical-style transformation before her flight.

Instead, we discussed what butt filler could realistically achieve for her frame and created a gradual plan focused on softening her hip dips and improving the transition between her hips and buttocks.

The plan was not based on how much product she could tolerate financially.

It was based on what could be assessed, placed and reviewed responsibly.

Her holiday photographs would have to feature the body she already had.

A body which, incidentally, looked perfectly good before anyone introduced it to the influencer folder.

She booked her treatment for after she returned.

Not the day after.

Not while she still had airport swelling and three hours of sleep.

After she had unpacked, recovered from the holiday and had time to follow the treatment process properly.

Three weeks later

She returned wearing the same sunglasses and carrying considerably less urgency.

Ibiza had been wonderful.

The influencer had never appeared at the beach club.

And not one person had inspected her hip dips.

We completed her first treatment conservatively.

At the initial review, the contour looked smoother, but the result remained proportionate to her body.

She asked whether adding more later would create additional projection.

We discussed it.

We photographed the result.

And for the first time, she did not ask how quickly we could do more.

"I actually want to see how this settles first," she said.

There it was.

The sentence every responsible practitioner prefers to hear.

Because confidence is not created by forcing the largest possible transformation into the smallest possible window.

Sometimes it is built gradually.

One realistic decision at a time.

And the white bikini?

It looked good before the filler.

She just needed to stop comparing the woman wearing it to somebody else's edited holiday.

Considering non-surgical butt filler?

Butt filler may be used to add targeted volume, soften hip dips and improve the overall contour of the buttocks in suitable clients. The amount required and the degree of change possible depend on your starting anatomy, body frame, skin and individual goals. Some clients may require more than one treatment to build their desired result gradually. Temporary swelling, tenderness, bruising, redness or firmness may occur, and serious complications are possible with injectable fillers. At Layali Clinic, every treatment begins with an individual consultation and realistic treatment planning. We will never promise to copy another person's body or place unnecessary volume simply to meet a holiday deadline.
