Before Your Treatment

Preparing for Titan X HIFU

Titan X HIFU needs very little preparation — but a few simple steps help your appointment run smoothly and your skin respond at its best.

HIFU works by gently heating tissue beneath the skin to stimulate fresh collagen. There are no needles and no cuts, so preparation is straightforward. Following the steps below helps keep you comfortable and gives your skin the best possible start.

Important: never stop prescribed medication without first speaking to your GP or prescriber. If you're unsure about anything below, please contact us before your appointment.

In the days before

Protect the area from the sun

Why: recently tanned or sunburnt skin is more sensitive and should not be treated with HIFU.

Please avoid on the treatment area

  • Sunburn
  • Sunbeds
  • Excessive sun exposure
  • Fake tan or an active tan (let it fully fade)

Stay well hydrated

Why: well-hydrated skin conducts the ultrasound more comfortably and responds better.

  • Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment
  • Aim for around 2 litres daily (unless medically advised otherwise)

Tell us about anything in the treatment area

Please let us know in advance if you have implants, dermal fillers or threads in or near the area to be treated (for example facial fillers, breast implants, or body implants). We may adjust the plan or avoid that exact area for your safety.

◆

24 hours before

Avoid alcohol

  • For at least 24 hours before
  • Alcohol can increase sensitivity and puffiness

Look after yourself

  • Eat normally — don't arrive on an empty stomach
  • Get a good night's sleep
  • Keep hydrating
◆

On the day of treatment

Please do

  • Arrive with clean skin on the area — no makeup, oils, moisturiser or SPF on it
  • Eat a proper meal beforehand
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Wear comfortable clothing (especially for body areas, so the area is easy to reach)
  • Remove jewellery on or near the treatment area
  • Allow extra time so you arrive relaxed

Please avoid

  • Makeup, oils, serums, moisturiser or SPF on the treatment area
  • Fake tan on the area
  • Alcohol
  • Perfume or lotion on the area

A clean, product-free area lets the coupling gel and ultrasound work properly.

When to postpone or check with us first

For your safety, please contact us before your appointment — we can usually simply reschedule to a safer time — if you:

  • Are or may be pregnant, or are breastfeeding (HIFU is not carried out during pregnancy or breastfeeding)
  • Feel unwell, have a fever or have any infection
  • Have broken skin, an open wound, a cold sore or active acne in the treatment area
  • Have significant sunburn or an active/fake tan on the area
  • Have had a new implant, filler or thread placed in the area recently
  • Have started any new medication or had a change in your health
  • Have a pacemaker, defibrillator or electronic/metal implant in the treatment area
If in doubt, always contact us first — your safety comes before proceeding.

Our priority is your safety

If we believe treatment is not in your best interests on the day, we may postpone it until it can be carried out safely. Your safety will always come before going ahead with treatment.
