Titan X HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is one of the most established non-surgical lifting treatments available. It uses focused sound-wave energy to heat tissue at precise depths beneath the surface, stimulating your body to produce fresh collagen and tighten the deeper support layer of the skin.
How Titan X HIFU works
Ultrasound is simply sound energy. Titan X focuses that energy to a tiny point beneath the skin — much like a magnifying glass focuses sunlight — creating small, precisely controlled points of heat deep in the tissue without damaging the surface.
Each of these heated points triggers your body's natural repair response: existing collagen contracts and tightens straight away, and over the following weeks your body lays down fresh collagen and elastin. The result is skin that gradually becomes firmer, tighter and more lifted.
Treatment depths — matched to each area
- 1.5 mm — the superficial skin layer, for fine crepiness and surface tightening
- 3.0 mm — the deeper dermis, for firmness and collagen renewal
- 4.5 mm — the SMAS / deep support layer on the face, the layer a surgeon lifts in a facelift
- Body cartridges (up to ~13 mm) — deeper applicators used to tighten skin over larger body areas
Your practitioner selects the depth (cartridge) and energy for each area so the heat lands exactly where it will do the most good.

Important: HIFU is not a substitute for a surgical facelift. Where laxity is advanced, only surgery can achieve a comparable lift — we will always tell you honestly if that is the case.

What happens during treatment?

We assess your skin, discuss your goals and confirm you're suitable before creating a personalised plan.
Preparation
The area is cleansed and a coupling gel is applied so the ultrasound travels smoothly into the skin.
Treatment
The handpiece is guided across the area, delivering focused-ultrasound lines at the chosen depth. Most people feel brief warmth and a tingling or prickling sensation as each line is delivered. There are no needles and no cuts.
Afterwards
You go straight home. The area may look a little pink and feel slightly tender for a short while — most people carry on with their day as normal.
When will I see results?
Titan X HIFU works gradually. You may notice a subtle immediate tightening from the initial collagen contraction, but the real change builds as your body produces new collagen over the following weeks.

Titan X HIFU may not be suitable if you:
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have a pacemaker, defibrillator or electronic/metal implant in the treatment area
- Have an active infection, open or broken skin, or active acne in the area
- Have a keloid or severe scarring tendency
- Have dermal fillers, threads or implants in the exact area (we may adjust or avoid that area)
- Have severe skin laxity better suited to surgery
- Have a malignancy (cancer) in the treatment area
Always tell us about any implants, fillers or threads in the area — your safety comes first.
Alternatives to consider
HIFU is one of several options for skin tightening and lifting. Depending on your goals, alternatives include:

Frequently asked questions
Does it hurt?
Most people describe brief warmth and a tingling or prickling sensation as each line is delivered, especially over bonier areas. It's very manageable and settles the moment the line is finished. There are no needles.
Will it look natural?
Yes. Because results build gradually over 8–12 weeks, the change is subtle and natural — you look fresher and firmer rather than "done."
How many sessions will I need?
Usually just one, with a periodic maintenance session to keep results topped up. Some people with more laxity may benefit from a second session — we'll advise you honestly at your review.
When will I see results and how long do they last?
You may notice subtle immediate tightening, but the main result builds over 8–12 weeks as new collagen forms. Results typically last around 12–18 months before a maintenance treatment is considered.
Is there any downtime?
Minimal. Most people go straight back to their day. The area may be a little pink, tender or tingly for a few days.
Is it a facelift alternative?
It's an excellent non-surgical option for mild to moderate laxity, but it is not a substitute for a surgical facelift where laxity is severe. We'll always be honest about what will genuinely suit you.
Can I have it on my body?
