Before Your Treatment

Preparing for Endolaser

A little preparation can make a significant difference to your experience, your recovery and your final result.

Endolaser works by stimulating your body's natural healing response and encouraging new collagen production. The better prepared your skin and body are beforehand, the smoother your recovery is likely to be.

Good preparation may help to

  • Reduce bruising
  • Reduce swelling
  • Improve healing
  • Lower the risk of complications
  • Support collagen production
  • Optimise your final result
Important: never stop prescribed medication without first speaking to your GP or prescribing healthcare professional. If you're unsure about any advice below, please contact us before your appointment.
◆

Two weeks before

Avoid other treatments in the same area

Why: it lets your skin be calm and fully healed, reducing irritation and complication risk.

Please avoid

  • Dermal filler
  • Threads
  • Skin boosters
  • Chemical peels
  • RF microneedling
  • Laser treatments
  • HIFU
  • Aggressive facials

If you've recently had any treatment in the area, please let us know.

Protect your skin from the sun

Why: sun-damaged or recently tanned skin is more sensitive and can increase the risk of complications.

Please avoid

  • Sunbeds
  • Sunburn
  • Excessive sun exposure
  • Fake tan

Cold sores

If you are prone to cold sores, particularly around the mouth, please tell us before your appointment — preventative antiviral medication may be recommended, as treatment can otherwise trigger an outbreak.

◆

One week before

Reduce your risk of bruising

Why: these thin the blood, which can increase bruising. Only where medically appropriate, and never stop anything prescribed without your doctor's approval.

Medicines

  • Aspirin
  • Ibuprofen
  • Naproxen
  • Other anti-inflammatories
  • Blood thinners (only with your doctor's approval)

Supplements

  • Fish oil & Omega-3
  • Vitamin E
  • Ginkgo biloba
  • High-dose garlic
  • High-dose ginger
  • Turmeric supplements

You may continue

  • Paracetamol, if you need pain relief

Skincare

Why: active ingredients increase skin sensitivity. Pausing them helps your skin tolerate treatment better.

Temporarily stop

  • Retinol, retinal & tretinoin
  • Glycolic & salicylic acid
  • Exfoliating products
  • Strong active ingredients

Smoking & vaping

If possible, reduce or stop smoking and vaping before treatment. This matters a great deal for Endolaser: smoking reduces blood flow to the skin, which can negatively affect healing, collagen production and your final result. The longer you can avoid it beforehand, the better.

◆

48 hours before

Avoid alcohol

  • Increases bruising
  • Increases swelling
  • Increases inflammation
  • Lengthens recovery

Avoid excessive salt

  • Takeaways
  • Processed foods
  • Crisps
  • Fast food

Why: alcohol thins the blood and inflames tissue; salt encourages fluid retention and post-treatment swelling.

Hydrate well

  • 2–3 litres of water daily (unless medically advised otherwise)
  • Well-hydrated tissue heals more efficiently

Prioritise sleep

  • At least 7–8 hours of quality sleep
  • Supports immune function, healing & collagen
◆

On the day of treatment

Please do

  • Eat a proper meal
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Arrive with clean skin
  • Wear comfortable clothing
  • Remove jewellery around the area
  • Allow extra travel time so you arrive relaxed

Please avoid

  • Makeup, SPF, moisturisers & serums on the area
  • Fake tan
  • Heavy caffeine on an empty stomach
  • Alcohol
  • Strenuous exercise beforehand
◆

Optimising collagen production

Because Endolaser works by stimulating collagen, supporting your body nutritionally can help optimise healing.

Protein — repair building blocks

  • Eggs
  • Chicken
  • Fish
  • Greek yoghurt
  • Tofu
  • Lean meats

Vitamin C — collagen synthesis

  • Oranges
  • Kiwi
  • Strawberries
  • Peppers
  • Broccoli

Keep hydrating consistently — healthy, hydrated tissue responds better to treatment.

◆

Prepare your home for recovery

Having a few essentials ready beforehand makes recovery calmer and more comfortable.

Your recovery kit

  • Paracetamol
  • Arnica gel or tablets
  • Extra pillows (to sleep elevated)
  • A clean cool compress
  • SPF 50
  • Comfortable clothing
  • Plenty of water
  • Healthy meals prepared in advance
◆

Social planning

Although most clients return to normal activities quickly, visible swelling and bruising can occur. Where possible, we recommend avoiding the following for approximately 2 weeks after treatment:

Best to avoid soon after

  • Important events
  • Weddings
  • Professional photography
  • Holidays
  • Public speaking events

Planning ahead means you'll be looking and feeling your best for the moments that matter.

Please contact us before your appointment if you

  • Feel unwell or have a fever
  • Develop a cold sore or any infection
  • Become pregnant
  • Start new medication
  • Have dental treatment, surgery or another aesthetic treatment
  • Develop a rash or skin irritation
  • Become significantly sunburnt
If in doubt, always contact us — in many cases we can simply reschedule your appointment to a safer time.

Our priority is your safety

If we believe treatment is not in your best interests on the day, we may postpone it until it can be performed safely. Your safety will always come before proceeding with treatment.
